Ontario health officials reported 115 new COVID-19 cases on Monday. The number of new COVID-19 cases in Ontario rises above 100 for the first time in a week.
“After a full week of reporting fewer than 100 daily cases, today Ontario is reporting 115 cases of #COVID19. While a slight uptick and an end to our steak, we shouldn’t lose sight of the fact that thanks to your efforts the trend in the province remains downward”, the Health Minister Christine Elliot stated in her tweet today.
“Indeed, locally 28 of Ontario’s 34 public health units are still reporting five or fewer cases, with 18 of them reporting no new cases. Yesterday, the province processed 22,275 #COVID19 tests as we continue to lead the country in daily testing“, further wrote the Health Minister.
The Health Minister also confirmed, “Windsor-Essex will join the rest of the province in Stage 3 as of Wednesday. This is an exciting step forward and one only made possible thanks to the hard work and diligence of all Ontarians to stop the spread – but we have to keep it up!”

If there is a discrepancy between numbers reported by Public Health Ontario and those reported publicly by a Public Health Unit, it is because the Public Health Unit hasn’t yet updated their numbers in iPHIS. In that case, consider the number reported by the Public Health Unit to be the most up to date.
