It all started when a Twitter user identified two fake Twitter profiles and asked Jemima, “Are these real account’s of your kids?”
To this, Jemima responded, “Thanks @elonmusk Fake accounts pretending to be my children, created by imposters with a political agenda in Pakistan. This is exactly what I feared would happen when you took away Twitter’s verification blue ticks. FYI my children are not on social media & have no plans to be.
Social media followers thanked Jemima for making it clear, and commented that these fake profiles should indeed be flagged and reported.

The this change came after owner Elon Musk introduced a new paid service last year called Twitter Blue with the intention to “democratize journalism and empower the voice of the people.”
Jemima married Imran Khan in 1995, who is a retired cricketer (later went on to serve as the 22nd Prime Minister of Pakistan from 2018 to 2022), with whom she had two sons (Sulaiman Khan and Kasim Khan). The couple divorced in 2004.
In 2015, Jemima founded Instinct Productions, and recently she wrote and produced What’s Love Got to Do with It?, a cross-cultural romantic comedy for Working Title Films and Studio Canal, starring Lily James and Emma Thompson. The film premiered at the 2022 Toronto Film Festival and won Best Comedy at the 2022 Rome Film Festival. The film’s release date in Canada is set to May 19, 2023.
