Bollywood is going through challenging times. The debate on nepotism has intensified after the death of young actor Sushant Singh Rajput, and online media followers are giving their verdict in one way or another using social media channels.
The latest impact of this nepotism debate is Mahesh Bhatt’s directorial project “Sadak 2”, which is a remake of his 1991 hit “Sadak”.
Mahesh Bhatt’s last directorial project, in 1999, was “Kartoos”, that had Sanjay Dutt, Jackie Shroff and Manisha Koirala playing lead roles. “Sadak 2” marks Mahesh Bhatt’s return to direction after 21 years.
“Sadak 2” reunites original cast, the popular star Sanjay Dutt, who yesterday took a break from work for medical treatment, with Pooja Bhatt. The film also sees Pooja Bhatt’s younger sister Alia Bhatt with Aditya Roy Kapur, who have both been called out during the ongoing nepotism debate.
While “Sadak 2” trailer dislikes keeping adding up, and because the film has Sanjay Dutt playing an important role, social media followers have been apologizing to him for their “dislike” on the trailer.
While some made the effort to make sure they will click “dislike” on the trailer, others appreciated Sanjay Dutt’s intense acting, and some film critics and analyst could not make out what was the film’s trailer all about.
The wiki page was updated to reflect the video statistics. Sadak 2’s official trailer became the video with the highest dislike to like ratio and highest dislike percentage (Among 2 million+ Dislikes) within 8 hours of upload on YouTube. The trailer is currently the most disliked movie trailer on YouTube, with 94.64% dislikes, totalling over 4.37 million dislikes.
