On Wednesday, Ontario is reporting 133 new COVID-19 infections. Of the 133 new cases confirmed on Wednesday, more than half of them are in either Toronto (43 cases) or Peel Region (34 cases) while another 23 cases are spread across the rest of the GTA, including 15 in York Region. Younger people continue to make up the greatest share of new cases. On Wednesday 57 of the 133 new cases involved people between the ages of 20 and 39.
“Ontario is reporting 133 cases of #COVID19—however, with 137 more resolved there is a decrease in the number of active cases. Yesterday, the province processed over 24,000 tests as we’ve now done over 3,000,000 #COVID19 tests and continue to lead the country in daily testing“, the Health Minister, Christine Elliot, stated in her tweet today.

Quebec (Report Date: September 2):
The most recent data on the evolution of COVID-19 in Québec show 132 new cases, bringing the total number of confirmed cases to 62,746. No new death has occurred in the last 24 hours, but 1 death which occurred between August 26 and August 31 and another one which occurred before August 26 are added, for a total of 5,764 deaths.
Across the globe, the US, Brazil and India continue to see an increase in the number of COVID-19 cases. Pakistan continues to see the decline and reported 300 new cases yesterday compared to its neighbour India, where 78,169 news cases were registered.
