In an update posted yesterday, Rogers has announced that in the wake of the devastating explosion in Beirut, Lebanon, Rogers is temporarily waiving long-distance and SMS charges to the country to help Canadians stay connected when they need it most.
From August 4 through August 23, 2020, all long-distance charges will automatically be waived on all mobile, business, and home phone calls and SMS messages to Lebanon for Rogers, Fido, and chatr customers.
Rogers communicated the announcement via its Twitter account as well.
“Our thoughts are with the people of Lebanon, and with all Canadians concerned for their loved ones in the region.”, stated the communication from Rogers.
